Quay-Side Rapid Response Depot Now Operational in Eemshaven.
With the growth of wind farms in the North Sea, depots in convenient locations that offer fast and efficient services are imperative to ensure continuous power generation in the face of an emergency or breakdown.
Utilizing DHSS quay side yard space at Eemshaven, Cargostore Worldwide Trading Ltd’s dedicated CCU depot provides round the clock service to wind farm projects. Holding a full range of DNV 2.7-1 certified equipment, wind farm project managers can now access reefers, hazardous goods containers, rigging lofts, storage units, workshops and toolboxes, 365 days of the year, 24/7.
Having this quay side depot service means Cargostore can deliver CCU’s immediately or for larger runs of stock, within less than 24 hours. This rapid response service has already been utilised by several major wind projects in the area.

“Nearly everything I deliver in Eemshaven is on an ad-hoc, rapid response basis, saving our customers on time and transport costs. I’ll get a call for 10 and 20ft Reefers at 7pm some nights and have them delivered by 9am the next morning, or customers can drive over immediately with a forklift, pick up the containers they need and deliver them directly to the vessel. This can only be done because we are the sole DNV 2.7-1 CCU provider in Eemshaven with stock readily available quay-side.”

In addition to rapid response, Cargostore can deliver bespoke equipment within less than a week turnaround time to delivery.
“Customers have contacted our Holland office asking for a particular kind of DNV 2.7-1 Workshop container or 10ft container with special shelving and because we design and manufacture our stock with networks who also deliver 24/7, we are able to provide the exact specifications for customer’s needs within a very short period of time, even when lead times for this type of equipment is usually over a month.” Mr Schouwenaar said.
Currently Cargostore are developing additional equipment to meet the immediate needs of the wind farm industry.
“We listen to what customers say they need and develop and provide that equipment, making it readily available from our depot network across Europe” stated Jacob Poot, Vice President, Offshore.
In addition to the Eemshaven depot, Cargostore has stock available in depots based in Emden, Rotterdam, Den Helder, IJmuiden, Cuxhaven, Sassnitz, Esbjerg, Limassol and Great Yarmouth.
