What is a Shipping Container?

A shipping container, often referred to as a storage container is a metal container used for storing or transporting a vast range of goods. They must be durable to withstand shipment, storage, and handling as well as to keep stored goods safe.

How much do Shipping Containers cost?

The prices also fluctuate with the shipping industry market conditions, based on supply and demand.

New containers are often referred to as one-trip containers, as they have taken one trip from the manufacturer loaded with goods to their destination before being sold. A one-trip container will cost more than a used container of the same type.

How big is a shipping container?

Shipping containers come in all shapes and sizes suitable for various uses and storage purposes. The most common sizes are 20ft and 40ft in length, which are the typical containers seen on container vessels and in ports globally.

Standard containers have a height of 8’ 6”, however high cube containers are 9’ 6” tall, perfect for light, voluminous cargo which require the extra capacity.
