Cargostore Solidifies Presence in East Coast US Offshore Wind Market
Cargostore Worldwide is pleased to announce the recent venture undertaken by Offshore Sales Manager, Dennis Schouwenaar, following his trip to the United States, exploring the pivotal US Offshore Wind hubs that will be reshaping the nation’s energy landscape.
At our established depot in the Port of Providence, Rhode Island, Dennis met with our partners Blue Ocean Port Services (BOPS) as well as catching up with our local client base. Further to the depot in Providence, Cargostore and BOPS operate a depot in New Bedford, Massachusetts which is a major Offshore Wind terminal, where we are currently supporting the ongoing Vineyard Wind project with our DNV 2.7-1 certified containers.

Supporting the Vineyard Wind Project with DNV 2.7-1 containers
Cargostore conducted client visits and explored potential opportunities in New London, Connecticut where a state-of-the-art terminal has been developed this year in preparation to support the Revolution Wind, South Fork Wind, and Sunrise Wind offshore wind farms, which together will boast an output of 1,760MW.
It was exciting to learn more about the development of the first US built, Jones Act compliant turbine installation vessel, Dominion Energy’s Charybdis. Currently in development in Brownsville, Texas, the vessel will be deployed in New London to support the construction of these wind farms.

Further outreach was conducted at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT) in Brooklyn, New York, another offshore wind hub which is undergoing a major redevelopment to become a world-class offshore wind port. The upgrade will allow the port to assemble the largest and most sophisticated components for the Empire Wind and Beacon Wind offshore wind projects, which will provide 3.3GW of clean energy, enough to power 2 million homes.
With a constantly growing fleet of DNV 2.7-1 certified containers in the USA, Cargostore is primed and ready to support projects across the US East Coast, alongside partners BOPS. To learn more about our container range, or to get a quote, email our offshore team at offshore@cargostore.com.
